For lenders, brokers & credit unions

Collect loan application documents from borrowers and guarantors, without the back-and-forth.

A case cannot go to underwriting with two payslips out of three or a guarantor who has not sent ID. Intaky turns the loan application into one checklist you send as a link, with reminders that go out on their own and a view of exactly what each borrower, director and guarantor still owes.

What documents does a lender need from a loan applicant?

For a personal loan:

  • proof of identity: a passport, national ID card or driving licence;
  • proof of address: a utility bill, bank or council statement from the last three months;
  • proof of income: the last three months’ payslips, or the last two tax returns if self-employed;
  • the last three months’ bank statements for the account the income is paid into;
  • title deeds, valuations or other ownership evidence, if the loan is secured.

Plus the amount, term and purpose of the loan, existing loans and total monthly repayments, and signed consent to credit and identity checks. For a business loan: the company registration certificate, the last two years’ audited or management accounts, the last six months’ business bank statements, revenue, profit and outstanding debt, the proposed personal guarantors, and proof of identity from each director, owner or guarantor.

Intaky’s loan application template asks for exactly these, each document next to the questions it supports. For the wider process, see how to collect documents from clients.

Why loan applications sit incomplete

  • A self-employed borrower sends one tax return. The lender’s criteria ask for two, and you find out when the case comes back.
  • Bank statements arrive for a savings account, not the one the salary is paid into.
  • On a business loan, the accounts are in, but the two directors giving personal guarantees have not sent ID and nobody is sure who is waiting on whom.
  • Existing credit is described in a phone call and never written down, so the affordability figures have to be asked for again.

The work is not the assessment. It is holding the thread between what you asked for, what has turned up and who you still need to chase — and Intaky is built to hold that thread instead of you.

The loan application template

A starter pack for personal borrowers and for businesses. Each document sits next to the questions it evidences, and nobody is asked again for the name and email they gave when they signed up. Everything below can be renamed, removed or added to in the form builder, so a personal loan and a business loan can be two different links from the same workspace.

The business side is filled in by the person managing the application; each invited director, owner or guarantor only fills in their own identity. The consents to credit and identity checks are recorded with the application; the checks themselves are run by your firm. Accepts PDF, Word, Excel and photos up to 10 MB each, and a document request can allow several files, so "three months of payslips" is one item, not three.

How it runs for a lender or broker

01

One link per product

Make a "Personal loan" link and a "Business loan" link, each with its own questions, documents and public link on your own subdomain. The borrower only ever sees the list that applies to them.

02

Invite the guarantors, then stop chasing

The business contact invites each director and guarantor separately. Give the link a due date and a reminder interval: Intaky emails whoever still owes something every few days, only during working hours in your timezone, and stops after six nudges.

03

Accept, or send one thing back

When a statement is for the wrong account, reject that one item with a note. Everything you already accepted stays locked, and every step is kept in the audit trail. Export the finished case as a PDF with the documents attached, or let the webhook tell your own system it is approved.

Questions about collecting loan documents

What documents do I need from a personal loan applicant?

Proof of identity, proof of address, the last three months' payslips (or the last two tax returns if self-employed) and the last three months' bank statements for the account their income is paid into. If the loan is secured, add title deeds, valuations or other evidence of ownership. You also need the amount, term and purpose, their existing loans and monthly repayments, and signed consent to credit and identity checks. Intaky's loan application template asks for all of these.

What documents does a business need for a loan application?

The company registration certificate, the last two years' audited or management accounts and, often, the last six months' business bank statements. Add the loan request, revenue, profit and outstanding debt, the names of any proposed personal guarantors, and proof of identity from each director, owner or guarantor.

How do I stop chasing borrowers for missing documents?

Send each borrower one application link with a due date and let the reminders do the chasing. Intaky emails the applicant every few days until everything is in, only during working hours in your timezone, and stops after six reminders. You see which cases are complete and exactly which items the others still owe.

How do I collect ID from every guarantor on a business loan?

The person managing the application names the proposed guarantors and invites each director, owner or guarantor by email. Each one fills in only their own identity section, with date of birth, residential address, whether they are willing to guarantee the loan, their consent to identity and credit checks, and a passport, ID card or driving licence.

What happens when a borrower sends the wrong bank statements?

You reject that one item with a note, for example that the statements are not for the account the salary is paid into. The borrower sees the note and replaces only that item; everything you have already accepted stays locked.

Can we get the finished application into our own systems?

Yes, in two ways. A signed webhook tells your own system when a case is approved, and each case exports as a PDF summary with its documents attached. Intaky does not have ready-made connections to particular loan origination or broker systems.

Does Intaky run the credit check or decide on the loan?

No. Intaky collects the application, the documents and the borrower's signed consent to credit and identity checks. Your firm runs the credit reference search, the identity and anti-money-laundering checks and the affordability assessment, and makes the lending decision.
