For franchisors & franchise development teams

Collect franchise applications with proof of funds attached, not promised for later.

An enquiry form tells you who is interested; it does not tell you who can fund a unit. Intaky turns the franchise application into one link that asks for capital, experience and territory, with the proof of funds and ID next to the answers and reminders that go out on their own.

What does a franchisor need from a franchisee applicant?

From an individual candidate: proof of identity and proof of funds, such as bank statements or investment account evidence, plus a business plan for the territory if they have prepared one. From a company: its registration certificate, financial statements for the last two years and a business plan if there is one, and proof of identity for each owner or partner. Alongside the documents, the application asks for:

  • liquid capital available, net worth (individuals) or annual revenue (companies), and how the investment will be funded;
  • business or management experience, or relevant food and retail experience for a company;
  • the proposed location or territory and when they want to open;
  • whether the candidate will run it full-time, or who the operating partner or manager will be;
  • declarations of accuracy, consent to credit and background checks, and an acknowledgement that applying does not commit either party to a franchise agreement.

Intaky’s franchise application template asks for exactly these. For the wider process, see the client intake process checklist.

Why franchisee recruitment gets stuck

  • Hundreds of enquiries, and the serious candidates look the same as the curious ones until someone asks for proof of funds.
  • Bank statements arrive by message, the business plan by email, and the second partner’s ID not at all.
  • The development manager types the same answers from the discovery call into a spreadsheet, then asks for them again in writing.
  • A promising candidate goes quiet after the first call, and nobody follows up for three weeks.

The decision is who should carry your brand. The admin is holding the thread between what you asked for, what has arrived and who you still need to chase — and Intaky is built to hold that thread instead of your development team.

The franchise application template

A starter pack for food, drink and retail franchises, taking candidates who apply as individuals and as companies. Each document sits next to the questions it evidences, and nobody is asked again for the name and email they gave when they signed up. Both sides end with declarations. Everything below can be renamed, removed or added to in the form builder, so each brand or territory can have its own link from the same workspace.

The company side is filled in by the person managing the application; each invited owner or partner only fills in their own identity. Accepts PDF, Word, Excel and photos up to 10 MB each, and proof of funds can take several files, so six months of statements is one item, not six.

How it runs for a franchisor

01

One link after the first call

Send a candidate the application link once they are past the enquiry stage, or publish one per brand or territory. It carries your logo and colours on your own subdomain.

02

Every partner, without chasing

A company candidate invites each owner or partner, who fill in only their own identity. Give the link a due date and Intaky nudges anyone unfinished every few days, in working hours, stopping after six reminders.

03

Review, then take it to committee

When proof of funds covers one account out of two, reject that one item with a note; everything already accepted stays locked. Export the case as a PDF for your approval meeting, or let a signed webhook send it on when you approve.

Questions about franchise applications

What should a franchise application form ask?

Who the candidate is, how much liquid capital they have and how they will fund the investment, their business or management experience, the location or territory they want, when they want to open and who will run the franchise day to day. It should end with declarations of accuracy, consent to credit and background checks, and an acknowledgement that the application does not commit either party to a franchise agreement. Intaky's franchise template starts with all of these, and you can rename, remove or add to any of them.

How do I find out whether a franchisee candidate really has the capital?

Ask for the figure and the evidence together. The template asks for liquid capital and the source of funding, and requires proof of funds, such as bank statements or investment account evidence, in the same section. Your team reviews the statements; Intaky does not assess them.

How do I collect ID from every partner in a company applying for a franchise?

The person managing the company's application invites each owner or partner by email. Each one fills in only their own identity section, with date of birth, address and a passport or ID card, while the manager answers the company questions and can see who has not finished yet.

Does an application commit us to a franchise agreement?

The template asks every applicant to acknowledge that the application does not commit either party to a franchise agreement. You can change that wording in the form builder; the franchise agreement itself is handled outside Intaky.

Can a candidate send several months of bank statements as one item?

Yes. Proof of funds accepts several files, so a run of statements is one item on the checklist. PDF, Word, Excel and photos are accepted, up to 10 MB each.

How do I follow up with candidates who go quiet after the first call?

Give the application link a due date and a reminder interval. Intaky emails candidates who have not finished every few days, only during working hours in your timezone, and stops after six reminders.

Does it carry our brand?

Yes. Your logo and colours appear on your own subdomain, on every page the candidate sees.

Does Intaky run credit or background checks on franchisee candidates?

No. Intaky collects the candidate's consent to those checks, along with their documents and declarations; your team or your chosen provider carries out the checks and makes the decision. A signed webhook can push an approved case into your own systems, and each case exports as a PDF.
